Book sale find 1938 Things to make and How to Make Them--Toy book from 1917

A recent find at a book sale published in 1938  full of projects to make for home and play. one of the items inside was this luggage rack, the drawing is just the size to use for 1/12 scale as is from the book.

Picture of the drawing, though not to size

Here is the mint container from Cracker barrel restaurant I mentioned a few blogs ago.  A very unique shape.

It speaks Edwardian or Victorian to me.  I will have a How to in the near future on what to make from this, and using the luggage rack pattern above.

I mentioned in a former blog about project Gutenberg and the old out of print books you can download at no cost.    I recently downloaded one from 1917 called Home Made Toys for Girls and Boys  by A Neely Hall.  What  an exciting book filled with toys and items before electronics.  Batteries are used in some, but the majority are Mechanical.  However there are patterns and dimensions for doll houses, stables, and even an apartment house doll house .  Patterns for easy to make furniture are included. Pedal cars and trucks could be miniaturized.  1917 patterns would also make a good reference for Historical purposes in miniature.
